From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing started the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.

From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Strategists parties.
